How to Measure and Obtain a Free Quote for a Custom Mattress
Measuring correctly is the most important step to guarantee a perfect fit. Here’s a simple process to follow:
- Measure Length & Width: Use a tape measure to get the full inside dimensions of your bed frame or platform. Measure the length, width, and depth. For antique beds, measure from inside rail to inside rail.
- Check Corners & Edges: Note if your mattress needs to include rounded corners, cut corners, or angled sides. If so, trace a template on cardboard or craft paper to send with your order.
- Measure Height (Thickness): Decide how tall you’d like your mattress — usually between 4” and 12”. Keep in mind clearance for cabinets, walls, or folding mechanisms.
- Confirm Shape: For boats or RVs with unusual angles, create a paper template of the entire sleep space. This ensures absolute precision when we cut your mattress.

Please note: due to the nature of constructing custom mattresses, allow for up to a 1.5″ deviation in either direction from the original measurements. We cannot guarantee that custom builds will match your original measurements exactly (but we do our best, and generally isn’t an issue!).
