It can be frustrating to track down a replacement rv mattress for an Airstream travel trailer. The majority of Airstream floor plans have the mattresses located in the corners of the trailer, 99% of them have one or more radius corners like casita mattress replacements.
To make things even more complicated, there are over 780 unique Airstream floor plans dating back to the first model built back in 1936! The good news is, we’ve found that many of the models share the same mattress designs. In fact, between the years 1999 and 2013, there were approximately 50 Airstream models built and most of them use one of eight unique rv mattress sizes.
Here are some of the most common Airstream Mattress sizes (Note: If you have one of these sizes, we’ll still require a schematic or template from you prior to production as the measurements of the curved edges can vary widely based on the model and year):
• 47.5” x 78” with double radius corners
• 48” x 76” with 10” radius and curved edge
• 54” x 76” with 10” radius and curved edge
• 54” x 83.25” with double narrow radius corners
• 60” x 75” with 11” radius corners
• 60” x 75” with 45” cut corners
• 60” x 75” with 11” radius and curved head
• 34” x 78” with a curved edge
Note: Airstream also has van mattress sizes which aren’t included in the list above.

Fortunately, we can custom make any Airstream mattress size or shape . Your mattress will be customized based on your height, weight, comfort preference, and budget. You’ll need a template or a schematic before you order, but you don’t need one to obtain a quote from us.
To obtain a quote, simply follow these steps:
- Using a tape measure, measure the widest width of your Airstream mattress.
- Next, measure the longest length.
- Then measure the existing mattress’ height. Note whether you have height restrictions for your mattress (low ceiling, etc). Generally, the thicker the mattress, the more padding and comfort layers we can squeeze in there to make the mattress more comfortable for you.
- Note how many radius or cut corners your mattress has and where they are located (we’ll get the exact measurements if you elect to order).
- Finally, call us for a quote! 888-488-1468. We’re open Mon-Friday from 7am PST to 4pm PST.
The good news is MattressInsider.com has the capability to do any custom Airstream mattress model.

How to Make Your Own Template
1) Obtain the materials. Please use craft paper (this is a thick brown paper available on a roll at your local store), please do not use plastic.
2) Lay the mattress down on top of the craft paper and using a permanent marker (like a black Sharpie) trace around your entire mattress. If you intend to keep the old mattress, be careful not to get marker on it.
3) Using a pair of scissors, cut along the line you traced. The template should now be in the shape of your old mattress.
4) Using the marker, write “TOP” in the center of your template so we know which side is the top and which side is the bottom.
5) Using the market, write “Head” at the top where you’d put your head and “Foot” where you put your feet.
6) Contact Us for our mailing address to send in the template.
